Default Waxing decals?

Hey, just bought my first bike. It's a 600. I want to clean it up alot so it looks better. I've waxed cars a bunch, but never ran across decals on cars or strips or anything like that. So I'm wondering what the best way to clean my bike which has a lot of decals or stickers from the factory.

I've used Wizards on the cars I've done and that seemed to work very well. I use the scratch removal, then wax, and then a protective coat. Is this doable on these decals? Should I go more lightly/softly? Or do they make these decals so well that they are made to wax? I just don't want to ruin the beautiful decals.

Thanks for any advice!

i detail cars for a living. just wax over them the way you would a car. after you take the wax off use a soft brissel brush and go around the edges of the decals to remove any wax that may have been left behind

Normally if it is factory decals, there should be clear coat over them. I use spray cleaner polisher on everything including rimtape except the brake. My CF Yoshi also get cleaned with that.

What about baked on wax that the previous owner left in the decals? Is there something you can use on that?

I've heard that an old tooth brush dipped in vinegar cuts through that old wax in a jiffy. Haven't tried it myself so might be best to try this in an inconspicuous area first, if possible.

Also, *gentle* heat is effective to remove excess.

All sounds like good ideas. I might try the vinegar with brush on my car since it has old wax in some cracks. Thanks!
