Waxing and waning in the PNW
Glorious waxing spring day here on the Sound.
Hit 70 degrees f, not a cloud in the sky
The old road dog and I took an extended, meandering roll down through some seaside twisties. Exceeding the legal anyplace we thought we could get away with it.
Stopping for a pint when she was running hot and I was running thirsty
I hope the southern autumn still brings opportunities like this to you down under.
To those back East. Your day will come. I'm certain of it, but mine was today.
Hell, Matti might thaw out before Sprock and TBT do and he lives in Finland!
Now I'm drunk. Hence the waning of the day
Sometimes I look at the bike and then myself in the mirror and wonder which of us is the true "old road dog"
We are, me and the bike, birds of a feather and it doesn't get any better on a sunny spring day
Cheers!

Woof, have already This was the second day I rode to work this week. No snow anywhere, day temps are between +5-10c, the nights are still cold though, when I leave to work at 6:20 the temp has been below zero both days but since the Volvo is out ATM, needs a big service, I've decided to brave the few degrees below rather than drive the Skoda ;D No biggy as my riding gear is suitable for snowmobiles too (detachable thermal lining) and my daily commute is only 26km now, of which the last six-ish are through downtown Lahti. Sure feels good to be back on the saddle, though I probly need new cold weather gloves as my middle fingers freeze in the morning... Gotta take it super easy cause there's still icy patches here and there in the mornings and some grit and dust on the roads where they haven't yet cleaned it up. We were planning to go for a ride with my friend and his R1 next saturday if the weather permits, atm looks like a warm sunny day coming!
Seb, before you go, check your mail

Some serious dieting required there I think Seb.
And; Woof, you need to check out the "Where the Pho are we?" thread.
Then the reason for this apparent mid/late life crisis will become more apparent.
But, honestly, huge kudos to Seb and Joy for having the courage to go and do something so completely off the wall as this.
Most of us will never be in a position that we can ever take off and do something like that.
Godspeed my friend, don't forget to keep us in the loop on your discoveries of new and fascinating skin diseases (sorry, I meant to say insects - the Blackadder effect just came over me there)
Cheers
