Default scratches in the clearcoat

I got some bad scratches that I can feel with my fingernail but they don't look like they have penetrated the clearcoat. A friend recommended scratchx so I bought some and tried it but with no luck. Any suggestions on how to get em out? Ive got a power buffer and I used it on my last car with a lot of luck Im just too scared to use it on this paint. Any suggestions? Theyre scratches on my car and not on any plastic. I know this is a bike forum just people ignored me on another forum I frequent so I figured Id ask here. Afterall Im trying to clean this car up so I can sell it and buy a cbr :P

eh this is the original 9 yr old paint on the car so I'm pretty afraid to wetsand it. I'm just trying to see if anyone knows of any buffing compounds or techniques that would help more.

as long as your clear coat isnt flaking (which as long as your worried about scratches it shouldnt be) you should be fine. wetsanding wont hurt it. what color is the care btw?
