Take that money you would spend on that Micron and find a used pc or maybe even the 2 bros juice box (have heard good things about those). I can guarantee you that if you compare a pc tune on that yoshi to just a micron pipe the difference will be in favor of the pc/yoshi combo.

I had a micron on an r6 I had, a yoshimura on an old fzr 600, a jardine on a previous 954 and an akrapovic on my current 954. Other than the way they sound and look no real differences in the products. After all they are only slip ons. Your not changing too much at all. I'd hate to see you buy a new pipe and notice no real difference. We were just trying to help you spend the money in the most"bang for your buck" fashion. I know you can change colors of the micron can. Beware of the red cans. The red will fade to pink on some of them. Micron is out of business so don't expect too much support from them. I'm not trying to flame you man. It's just a 2 hp loss to me isn't worth a couple hundred bucks. I found a great deal on a new Micron slip-on and was wondering what is and isn't true. I know I may be bringing up old questions, but I figure with the more the time passes, the more educated the answers become, and the more accurate truths seem to be found. If I purchase the Micron, will I be able to mount the can where the Yoshimura R&D is mounted without modification? All help appreciated.
To the OP. Dont care what brand. A slip on is a slip on. Nothing more! Its not about HP. Go for the sound you like. YES! K&N will result with a loss of HP. Stay with Stock. A Model specific slip on "should" bolt up to your factory mid pipe. We wont bother you with air/fuel mixtures or re-gearing your machine. Hopefully these answers helped.........

If you like the Micron then go for it,sell the Yoshi and get back some money you just spent on Micron.I have gone thru 4 slip on changes since I bought my bike.Did I notice any power difference? NO.I gutted my air box and htev, had it custom tuned with pciiir and then I noticed the difference.I got an extra 15 hp from a slip on and the free mods I did to my bike.

Irockwell27

Get the slip on pipe you want because of the sound and look, nothing else. Mods you may also want to check out.
1. Power commander III - got mine nicely used for 200.00. I am using an Arkepokevic map with a Jardine pipe and it made things much smoother than pre PcIII and I did not have it dynotuned.
2. New chain and sprocket set up. -1 or -1+2, your choice. My bike is a F4I 600 so I went to the 520 chain. This is the best 130.00 I spent. It makes the bike feel quicker on acceleration.
3. Do the R6 1/6th throttle mod - best 25.00 you will spend and your wrist will love you for it.
