well It is MY first bike but i rode my buddies for 8 months while he was in Basics, and the 954 for a week and a half. So what it boils down to is i need to go ride a 1000 and then start looking for either a 954 or a 1000... Thanks guys...

 

i have never rode a honda 1k but ive rode both 954 and 929, both very similar but i like the looks of the 54 much better

 

I like the seating position on my 954 a lil more than the 1000RR's...theyre both lounge chairs compared to my old 600RR's tho

I had a couple of GSXR 750's before i got my 954, never had a complaint with them at all. The only real reason i came to buying my bike was comfort. Im a bit older, and semi tall at 6,2. I was looking at new bikes and the first time i sat on and rode my 954 it was over, the bike was so much more comfortable than all the rest of the bikes i had ridden. Again its all opinion on my end of course, but for the last 2-3 years i have test ridden damn near every new bike thats come out looking for a new one, none have matched the comfort of my 54.

 

The 1000RR's have had quite a few bugs in them, in fact, i believe they just did a recall of the 2006 - 2008 models for some reason like a fault in the gas tank.

I'd stick with the 954, you'll be able to afford decent gear and still go very fast if you want to. I agree with what others have posted though, be really careful, because the 954 can get you in trouble a lot faster than the 600cc bikes.

 

this may come across as blasphemous but any of the japanese bikes are worth looking at...there all slightly different but there's not major reason to get one over the other. its usually one reason or another that somebody goes with one bike over another.

well my buddy that i grew up with and the owner of the 954 i had been riding around for some time, offered to sell it to me, its an 02 with 8300 and verrry clean bike, he was pissed if it got a couple sunspots on it... its never been laid over and i know it runs great... he wants 6k even, is that good or bad? And ExSR20F2 what do you have?
