Default My 1st bike ever!

So at 28 i decided to get a bike. I always wanted one so I got this 2003 cbr 954rr, with 13000 on it for 5K. I thought I was a good deal for a 1st bike. As you can asume IDK anything about bike or any of the lingo that goes with it. I do have some questions tho. Y shifting is kinda hard? a friend said cuz of the mileage but IDK, and the other thing is that after riding I smell like lawnmower for some reason... is that normal?

1. the oil in your motor also runs through your clutch (wet clutch) So try doing an oil change and see if it smooths out

2. you smell like cut grass or like oily gas??

Also, welcome to the wonderful world of 2 wheels.. Please ride safe and at your own pace and know your limits as a new rider.
here are a few write-ups to read through that will help greatly (click the "tech" link at top for more info)

The smell is like the smell of a lawnmower while is running. Anyways here is a pic of the bike. I really dont wanna make it faster I just wanna ride n make it look as nice as possible. I also wanna learn how to service it as much as possible.

That bike looks smooth as butter, djV. Once you replace your gigantor can and ditch the grass clipping scented cologne you'll be ready to go.
