I bought my 2003 CBR954RR in August 2011 with 8,000 miles on it for 4,000. Hopefully it keeps running well

 

I traded my 5 year old Giant Trance mountain bike along with a couple sets of bicycle wheels and $1,500 bucks for a 2003 954RR with 16,000 miles, alpine stars leather jacket, alpinestars gloves, HJC helmet and a set of Harbor Fright front/rear stands. Sounds like a great deal except I had to put two new tires on immediately, changed oil, replaced fork seals within a month and then had spark plug blow out. And I have to come up with another few hundred now for a valve adjustment. I love my bike but I don't know how much more I can dump into this thing.

 

For that clean of a bike you have Tim and that steal you got it for. it sounds like you got a great deal unless those mountain bikes were worth close to a grand a piece either way it's still a good deal. and the issues you listed aren't anything major that's expected you wheelie and do stoppies so your fork seals will blow quicker, and tires get worn usually what ever 3-5 K?

 

No worries, you screw up doing a wheelie or stoppie and it will all be scrap anyway.

 

picked mine up today! 02 954 27,000 miles -$2300- looks about 85-90% clean. guy says it has a web cam, pc3, and full d and d. im not sure how to tell what full d and d looks like on the 954, ill get it dyno'ed to see if its putting out more than stock because of a cam. and im now looking for the pc 3.
