Strange Fuel pump/Electrical issue...Please help!
Hello fellow enthusiasts, I've been reading these forums for quite some time now, especially the threads about different mechanical problems everyone runs into. Seems like folks on these forums are always willing to lend a hand to help figure problems out. That is why I'm here, and i hope somebody has some input on my issue. But I digress...
A couple of nights ago, I went out to start my 954 to let it warm up like I always do during the winter months. I turned the key, heard the fuel pump prime, and went to start the bike. It turned over twice and then everything went dead. I chocked it up to a dead battery, so i removed the battery and charged it up. I re-installed the charged battery a little while ago and tried again to start the bike. When i turned the key, all i got was this bizarre, rapid clicking noise coming from my fuel pump, and my gauge cluster was coming on and off at the same rate the clicking sound was coming from the fuel pump. When i turned my kill switch to the off position, the gauges returned to normal like nothing was wrong. I flipped the switch back to run with the same result, clicking noise and gauge freak out. I'm a little bit dumbfounded on just what exactly might be going on, so any input you folks might have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
