Hi guys im a new here and also the proud owner of a 200 cbr f4.
Love the bike so far but she need a little work to get her back looking and running like i know she could.

My questions is about the fuel pump / fuel transfer relay.
What happens is when i turn key to on i can hear the transfer relay click and the fuel pump primes. (sometimes though it primes longer than others might be a second here or if it feels like it would run for about 3 secs before shutting off
)
After that i start the bike and she starts right up and idles fine. If i rev it too much she bogs down and cuts out. So i did some checking and realized the carbs ran out of fuel and the bowls are empty. For some reason the pump doesnt seem to work anymore after the initial priming stage before engine is started.

My question is do u guys thinks its the pump or the relay. Dont know which since the both work fine before startup.

If you download the shop manual for the bike there is a test that can be done to the relay to see if it is good. I don't have the manual handy right now but you can find it on this site, I believe in the F4 section. good luck

Thanks for replies guys. I have on a brand new filter. Problem seems to be pump doesnt seem to be working after bike starts. after bikes starts.

Will look for manual and test relay.

 

did you ever find that relay? I am looking for it now too... cant locate it in the manaul... there is a little discription but its not much help.
