So today I went riding and I noticed that when I was high in my rpms I heard something like a high pitch rattle-ish sound. Not sure what it is only thing I can think of is maybe the ape CCTL that was recently installed, would that make a sound like that in high rpms?

 

i'm curious how you heard this riding in high rpms... i assume you must have been doing at least 45-55mph right (and that's first gear)? there's wind and the exhaust?


so that should be one hell of a noise, right? or was it very faint?


was it vibration?

does it do it when you rev the bike in the driveway?

 

It's like when I'm in like 1,2,3 gear and I let it reach high rpms when I get on it I hear it. It's not its a constant noise but when I hit 8,9 rpms I hear it then when I shift goes away then comes back when I reach 8,9 rpms again....it's weird never heard it before and it only does it when I'm in those high rpms doesn't do it while it sits in my driveway

 

Something may have rattle loose...

 

is there a hollow sound as well?
check to make sure your airbox is screwed down tight.

 

sounds like vibrations or something to me. that would be more sort of RPM specific...



like splash said, check bolts and screws to see if they're loose
