Default Slight oil leak, new rider need help!

Hi guys, I just picked up a 03 954 RR and rode it for couple days.

I recently noticed some oil collecting on the bottom side of the fairings where they join. Whenever I let it sit after riding, I puts couple drops on the pavement... I checked and it seems like it is coming from the set of bolts above the oil pan. Not the oil pan, but the ones above it...

I couldn't find a gasket for it online, Is there a gasket there? What could be leaking? The oil level is normal (between the lines). What should I check for?

Thanks for your help!

go to bikebandit.com, look up the bike under OEM parts and there are diagrams of the bike with every part possible. if you dont find a gasket on there then there is none.

if you are refering to the case bolts there is no gasket between cases but if its leaking bad enough to enoy the **** out of you pull the motor out drain all the fluids, flip it upside down take apart the cases use fresh hi temp silicone put the cases back and tight them to specs. about 3 to 4 hours of job... good luck

I have had many..many 929,954,f4i come thru the shop with the same problem...most of the time it was a preowned bike that was dropped on the stator side and the cases were broken and not welded back together flush so that there isnt a leak...when you pull the stator cover check that the cases around the cover werent tampered with or rewelded by some dummie before you. If it is you can have it rewelded(expensive and can cause case warping) or put two gaskets in there instead of one.
