Default scotts steering damper help.

I bought a 929 steering damper for my 954 it didnt come with the mounting nut for the triple tree. Does anyone know if you could make the stock nut work or how to get access to JUST the mounting nut for the 954. not trying to buy the entire mounting kit for another $150.

I would go to a hardware store and get a thinner nut to go on it.The stock one might not be able to go on all the way and come loose.

they got good customer service in terms of phone calls. i wrote a little comment on the bottom of my warranty card and sent it in and like a week later they called me to ask me about it and were very helpful.
does it cost a lot of money to call from iraq? sorry for the cluelessness. if they dont answer the email within a couple of days i can give them a call for you since im in the states. you just gotta tell me exactly what you want to know, where you would want the part shipped, etc. and i can get you the information. that and/or i can tell them to check their email lol

Actually it isn't too bad to call unless you call colect or something it was just a little inconvenet because of the time, we are 10 hours ahead of them and they didnt open untill 1000AM But I called told him what I had and what I needed, they were veryhelpful and got $85 of my hard earned money but hey I have a scotts steering damper now. All together I have about $300 in it. Not too bad. Plus I needed it.

eBay or bikebandit. google it you may find some stuff on sale. I found my damper on ebay for cheap, although it was for a 929 so I bought the stuff from scotts for the 954 and still saved about $200 from new
