Default Regulator rectifier question

Does anyone know if the 954 and F4i have the same regulator rectifier? I have a spare RR for the F4i and wanted to see if it would work on the 954 so that I could diagnose my hot starting problem.

So does anyone know if these two RR's are interchangeable?

they're different part numbers, so i'd say they are not the same - but R/R's pretty much do the same thing, so i'd say you could use it - you'd just have to modify the plugs if they aren't the same by cutting the plug connectors off both R/R's and splicing the 954's plug onto the f4i's R/R to make it work, and then you'd have to figure a way to mount it if you wanted run the 954 with a f4i R/R

but whats the issue you're having? it could be something else too

I posted another thread about the starting problem. The bike won't start after it gets above 215 degrees.

Almost any rectifier will work, as long as the fittings are the same..... you could make a rectifier if you wanted.

All a rectifier is, is four diodes set up into a wheatstone bridge pattern. It takes AC voltage and turns it into a DC voltage. If you set it up in the Dimond shape, have all the negative sides on the right side, and apply a AC voltage to the top and bottom. Then DC voltage will come out on the left and right.
