Default Regulator/Rectifier Question

Well, only indirectly. But is there a way to replace the connector box that the R/R plugs into without buying a complete wiring harness? I've got a fried lead and I'd like to replace the entire box if possible.

Well Paco for those of us who bought the UK Electrex Brand - you end up
chopping of the stock connector box and putting their version back on in it's
place to connect to their R/R

So I'd say you could basically do something similar with Radio Shack bits and
pieces and a soldering iron

I'm with you why the hassle and expense of a complete harness - just have at
it with a soldering iron female spade receptors etc.

I guess any nylon plug with the right number of terminals will do the jub. I'll have a look and see if I have one of the original plugs in my "parts bin"

Do you want the male or female part, or both Paco ?

Hi Paco - the attached pictures might help.

The first 2 show RR from 1989 on with Honda specific plug (Note different size lug bottom left as example. I could not find this available as aftermarket at electrical stores.)

What I did do was in picture 3 with the Electrx RR. These plug/socket of MOLEX design are easily available from electrical stores.

Not complete answer for you but it might help.
