I meant to ask about notchy downshifting. Mine downshifts fine, doesn't grind, but it has a definite notchiness when downshifting. Feels like my mustang with the hurst short throw shifter, except the mustang feels notchy on upshifts and smooth on downshifts.

I tightened my chain a little and it didn't clunk nearly as bad.

 

thats just how these trannys work.... and you have to remember, the throw between 1st. and 2nd. is bigger than the others. those shift rods have to move a lot.
