Clunk Sound in second gear. Please help!
Bike: Honda Cbr f3 600cc
Hello everyone. I recently bought a 1995 f3 and it has 34k miles. Last couple weeks, it was shifting really smooth. Couple days ago, I floored it in 1st gear to test its potential and shifted to second gear at like 8k rpm. It grinded a little bit so I got scared.
I know that first gear clunk is normal but this is what i feel when i shift from 1rst to second after that incident. Im happy I dont get grinding as much (maybe once in a while) but whenever I shift from 1st to 2nd, I hear a loud cunk. When i shift it at higher rpm, i have this strange feeling in my feet. Right upon shifting, i feel that the gearbox is exerting a force on my foot (opposite reaction). So when I change from 1rst to 2nd in high rpm, it shifts but there is a clunk and after the shift, the shift lever hits my foot back. (Same feeling as bounce a tennis ball against the wall and catching it)
Note: Whenever i shift less than 2500 rpm, the clunk is not loud and its kinda smooth.
Note: Recent oil changed (Castrol for motorcycle, 10w-40)
Please let me know what might be wrong with my bike. I am afraid, did I messup the transmission while I was revving in first gear last week?
Any help would be appreciate (I always use proper clutching technique upshifting or downshifting)
Thanks

My guess would be on the gears my buddy calls them "Dogs" if they get rounded to bad the make all kinds of noise. He had a similar problem on his 900rr. He ended up changing the trans gears and shift forks out after 2nd gear split in half. Be careful on it because it may pop out of gear in 2nd if those Dogs are rounded. Im no transmission expert here maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer. If you need i have a spare transmission with all good gears i can sell you if thats your problem.
Same thing happens to me sometimes. So my question is, is it bad or its normal?
This is normal; it's a passive protective mechanism to prevent you from throwing a low gear on at too high of an RPM. Cars have the same thing.
