I have a 954 with an Akrapovic end can on it and would like to know if I should get a PC3 and put it on the dyno to lean it back and smooth it out?

 

You don't "need" a PCIII with an end can anymore with than you need one with a stock can. An end can isn't going to throw off your A/F ratio.

If you get a custom tune though, you'll see benefits. Remember, that costs around $200-300 depending on who does it plus the cost of the PCIII. And the custom tune gets thrown in the garbage if you further modify your bike later down the road.

 

Thanks Conrice, I thought it won't hurt it if its running a little rich, I'd do it when I get a full system, but I don't want 2 sacrifice the mid-range 4 a little more up top cos I spend more time between 3-7grand than 7+. I also value my licence which stops me using the "go directly 2 jail" revs.

 

Changing the muffler/exhaust to better breathing one will lean the mixture. And it won't affect our midrange power negatively. But the muffler won't effect that much it would need the PC3 like Conrice said
