hey guys,

im looking to get into the cbr world. ive rode bikes all my life, but am looking at buying a 2002 cbr 954 from a friend of mine. i have rode the bike and love it, but i thought i would ask youall what you thought about the deal. its a 2002 with 20,000 miles, a good title and never been wreaked. he wants 4200 (although i think i could get it for 4k). i have rode it and there is nothing wrong that i can tell. runs and rides great, but i just wanted to ask the people that would know if there was anything in particular for this bike and mileage i should be looking for, and if the price is right for the bike. any input would be apprecieated.

well 20k is up there kinda but if u rode it and it seems fine.. do a compression check and stuff, if u buy it change spark plugs, oil, air filter, and take care of it, good deal then

 

I wouldnt be at ALL worried about the mileage. For one, it's a honda... so it's got a reputation to be bulletproof. For two, a bike with that many miles (especially if its a buddy) probably has been taken care of with maintenence and all that jazz done to it. The only thing I'd check is the front forks and seals to make sure they aren't busted which would indicate the guy might be a stunter (pulling a lot of wheelies which can starve the engine of oil) since it is such a wheelie prone bike.

Other than that... it's a good price on a bike that I love! Go for it!

 

theres a rider with an F4i that just turned 50K I wouldnt worry too much, just give it a good look over.
