Hi I need to change the shift fork on my 02 954 not sure what one to order the manual dose not exactly tell you what one you need to order. My bike has a problem with second gear. I'm an automotive technician and doing the work is no problem for me I been working on Honda's since I was 10 from Honda 50's all the way up but haven't done much work on newer Honda street bikes. I want to order all the parts I need before I open the motor up it's mostly apart now. Thanks in advance.

What one is giving you trouble 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. You can go to www hondaparts-direct.com they have a micro fiche to look at, as does ron ayers.com give them a call they should easiely tell you which of the 3 to order.

 

i have the same problem, my bike just slips out of 2nd into neutral all the time, i can't hold 2nd for more than a second or two...good luck man.

 

I buy all my parts from www.mrcycle.com I have had great dealing with them over the years. Yes they have micro fiche and everything. I just do not know what fork to order left center or right. My problem is shifting from first gear to second gear all the rest are fine. I just like to order the part in advance before I open the motor up. Since I'm doing the job in my friends dad's garage. I already have all the plastic off the bike exhaust system so just ready to take the oil pan and clutch case cover off ect. Any one know what Fork I need?

 

by the time it won't stay in gear at all its more then a shift fork. Plan on dropping the motor and pulling the trans and either replace the gears or have them undercut.
