Lookin at a 954rr need some advice
My dads friend has a 2002 954rr with 30,000 miles. I know thats a lot of miles but the bike is in immaculate condition and has been babied its whole life. He's had it serviced and maintained every couple thousand miles and was advised to put on new headers by the dealer at 30,000 which he had done. He also has a 2 brothers exhaust on the bike. He told me he would sell it to me for around $3,200 with all of his riding gear and helmets which would just be good for extra equipment. Was wondering if it is a fare price and if its worth it or if i should look for something with less miles.

Welcome.
Fair pricing depends on your market and condition of the bike. Sounds like the condition of the bike is good and it has extras. Don't worry about that mileage, not too high if it hasn't been abused.
Have you looked through CL or Cycle Trader to see what comparable bikes in your area are selling for?

If it were around me, I'd have already bought it at that price if it meets the description you've posted.
I wouldn't worry with the mileage since you know the basic maintenance and owner history with the bike.
Kinda wondering why the dealer recommended new headers, unless it was a rust thru issue.
Oh yeah - and welcome to CBRF!!

welcome to cbrf! all that matters is the condition of the motor. just make sure you listen to it - make sure it sounds good (no piston slap or knocking in the motor). before you start it up, check the oil. make sure it has enough - as a lot of people that change the oil via interval as opposed to constantly monitoring the oil level can let it get away from them and the bike will not have as much as it should have.
as far as other stuff - make sure the fork seals are holding. after that - it all depends on what it's worth to you. you can pretty easily change everything else.

Thanks for all of your advice! Hes been coming by on the bike since he got it and always said hed sell it to me I know its in pristine condition so im not too worried about that. After looking on CL and Cycletrader it looks like im getting a pretty good deal. Cant wait to pick it up this december and start riding.

I picked up I myself in December, 47000km $3200aus very similar 2 yours, the 954 is the best FireBlade so far its smaller and lighter than a new 1 the brakes r bigger, it was the last 1 Tadeo Baba the original FireBlade designer did, that's why FireBlade isn't spelt Fireblade. Hang on to it there gonna be a future classic just like the 92 and prices will rise.
