LoJack
Recently?
I just had a friend say he was Quoted 600 in NC about 3 years ago.... But does anyone think it is worth it? I heard through the rumor mill that it can be removed in under an hour nowadays, so that might not be enought time to get ahold of the cops.... any ideas?

well half the reason lojack is effective is because it is somewhat hidden. if the installers do a decent job at hiding it and the thieves arent looking for it specifically, chances are it will be somewhat useful. and the fact that it has a built in backup power source makes it even better especially if they disconnect the battery cables. with a typical alarm, all the thieves would have to do was go scout the bike out one day prior, bump into it and see if it makes a warning noise, if it does then they know all they gotta do is cut the power and theyll be set. i feel like they wouldnt expect a bike to necessarily have lojack installed so they might overlook it, especially if they hide the system next to the fusebox or someplace that it'll semi-blend in(never actually seen what one looks like tho).
the way i see it is if someone wants to steal something then they will get it. with a standard alarm, they WILL get the bike and youll be SOL. with a lojack, theyll get the bike, but you still have an opportunity to have it tracked. you just have see if you think its worth it to you for you to have or not
