Sometimes after alot of use, the steeringstops (little bumps on the side of the frame neck) will get a little worn. If this is the case, the steering is going just a little too far for the lock cylinder in the ignition to correctly engage the hole in the frame neck. Try turning the handlebars just a little to the right and try the lock again. If this doesn't work, push the key down and put a little pressure on it toward the lock position and fiddle with the handlebars and see if the cylinder will fall into the hole. Alternately, you could always turn the handlebars to the right and lock them in that position.
