Default Jardine RT-1 Slip on

I just finished installing my Jardine slip on, problem is that it now leaks between the slip on and the pipe, I used the original gasket from the stock can but it does not sit down inside the Jardine can like it did on the stock one?

Do I need to use a gasket?

I have that can, but i havent had it off in a while. It seems to me there is a crush ring style gasket in there, but i would have to check to be sure. I can maybe look into that tomorrow for ya.

I've taken my micron exhaust pipe apart before and noticed that I had the same problem. I have the right gaskets for the pipe though. The gaskets are shot and it leaks also. The fabrication is also all wet in my pipe. What does this mean? Is this normal? I do not have any performance loss because of the bad gaskets n I can't feel any air coming out of the shot gaskets. They cost 30 a piece. Pretty nuts for a gasket if you ask me so I have left it alone. What do you think TK

Condensation in the exhaust is normal, your packing might be burnt up so your noticing it more. As far as the leak, if you cant feel it, or see any black spots then it must be pretty minimal. I would say replace the gasket if you want, or leave it. If its that small it shoudnt hurt anything.

There is plenty of packing left in the pipe. How do u know if it is burnt out? Just not as much fabrication in there? I think this summer I'm gonna get a different pipe anyways. I really like how the jardine pipes sound. My buddy has one on his F3 and it sounds awesome.

What is the difference the shorty makes? I know that you cut it yourself & I would more than likely take that from you if you wanna get rid of it. Does the shorty make the bike any louder, more performance, etc? It's just the bolt on right?
