hid install problems!11!!

They dont require a 'special' kit but a slim ballast kit is usually preferred.

You may want to check your battery if you smelled burning from that area.

Did you get the 35w or 55w bulbs?55w bulbs will fry your wires.

I got my set slightly used and had to rebend the wire that holds the stock bulbs in place. Once I did that they seem to be very secure.

That may or may not be true. I have 55w in my bike and have not fried the wires (yet) lol ... its been about a month

yeah, you know I didn't even check what wattage they were, it ran fine for the first day, but as I left work I saw something burning against the metal under the seat, in no connection to the battery, it was near the tail. Today I go out to see what's going on and it doesn't start.
