that switch contains the low beam light circuit and power circuit to the headlight relay which is used for the high beams
if the fuse is good-check that switch-somewhere on this forum there is a thread about repairing the switch
-i remember seeing it in either 929 section or general tech section

The starter switch. when you hit it the power is diverted from the lights to the starter for more power. take it apart and clean it up. I know a guy that just had this same prob.

I had this happen on my F4i this spring. It was the starter switch. If you unscrew that clamshell assembly you'll likely find the wire broken off the post inside. It's only function is to cut off the lights while the starter is engaged if the wiring is the same as the F4i, which I assume it is. Your choices are to buy a new assembly or simply bypass that interrupt mechanism and wire the two end straight togetherso the lights stay on for the couple seconds while the starter is engaged. I never had a problem with bypassing it. I suppose I won't be surprised to see it happen on my 954 now.

check your rear brake activation switch it needs adjusting most likely, or check the connections by the front brake level there are two connectors

ya my front brake lever isnt releasing the switch. i can manually push the lever fwd and hear the click and the brake lights go off.
almost like the cylinder isnt pushing back out enough.
seems to be a totally diff problem than my headlights tho.
