fuel pump not priming.......
just a little tip for those of you whoever might encounter this problem....
got a new back tire put on today and when i rolled the bike outta the honda dealership the bike wouldnt start. it would spin over but wouldnt prime the fuel pump. well we tore the whole bike apart and changed out the rollover switch. that didnt work. checked all the relays because none of them were clicking on when you turn the ignition on. the relays all checked out good. so towed the bike home in pieces and started testing wires with a dwell meter and test light. no switch power to the relay for the fuel pump. for those who dont know, there are 3 relays on the right side of the tail section behind the front seat. the one with the BIG red wire is the one for the fuel pump. we were stumped at this point.
i was messing with the wires for the gauge cluster and the pump primed. the two large blue and grey main harness connectors on the right side control basically everything. well i found that on the blue plug one of the connectors was melted somewhat for one of the wires. cut and spliced a new plug in on both sides and it is all good again. so just some info for anyone who might ever have this problem. all caused by a loose connection at that plug. hope this will help someone else
