I have never been able to use the fork lock on my 954. There seems to be nothing keeping the front wheel from turning far enough to lock it.Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

 

have you done it before on other bikes.. you have to have the handlebars all the way turned, push the key down in the ignition and then turn the key.. there is a locking pin inside

 

yeah they literally have to be all the freakin way left or it won't work

 

they are all the way turned. tried it both ways, just in case. i was told i may need an entirely new ignition. that would suck

 

are you pushing the key all the way down and turning it.. have you locked other bikes/ignitions

You should be able to turn it alllll the way in either direction, then push the key down and to the left. that should do it. if not, does it feel like its turning, but then hitting something and not going all the way...or does the key just not turn at all?

 

i can turn it all the way in both directions. nothing is in the way. I can push the key all the way down, but not in the direction to lock it. it was suggested to spray some graphite in the ignition and see if that does it.

 

that and/or some lube..

 

I almost am certain that you have an X265 aftermarket key. PM me if you do. Ill fix your problem. Long explanation.
