RE: exhaust
It takes some MAJOR hp to do a real 200mph on a motorcycle. Unless you're building a streamliner than you would probably need at least 200hp. Just before the 800cc limit on MotoGP bikesin '07, the 1000's were barely hitting 200mph on the fastest tracks. Those bikes were factory machines pushing +240hp......and they easily cost more than 100K to build.

RE: exhaust
200 mph on a 954. Don't thinks so. It takes serious hp to break the magical 200. For example, to get a Busa to hit 200 (GPS verified versus speedo indated which would be off by at least 10 mph) takes at least 100 extra HP. Wind resistance increases exponentially which why it takes all that extra HP to gain that last 10-12 mph to join the 200 club.

RE: exhaust
ok guys i got some good and bad comments behind this...the bike that is topping 200mph is a friends and after reading your remarks i was secound guessing the bikes potential but i called my friend and we went to a 15 mile stretch of road across the ferry in galveston...anyone from the area will know what im talking about...and i went about 10 miles down the road with a radar gun and i clocked him at 204...he told me to gear my bike up, get a two bros. full exahust, get a custom air box, and a power command. he did tell me that the bike realy needs to be lowered2-3 in. to help on stability and make sure i have a stering dampner...i hope i am not going to be dissapointed..i have spent about 4k on this project so i will try to get some pics for you guys...
ps we do not use speedo's we always use a radar gun...pls keep posting all comments are welcome

NO DUDE! he just told me were to wait for him i dont know how long or how fast he got to that speed..i just know when he went buy me it was at 204....have faith my brother, and if he has done everything he said he has done..i will find out soon enough how capabile the bike is of those speeds....

There is a huge difference between 180 and 200 mph. Aerodynamically, motorcycles are crude machines, and the physics of airflow management mean that even tiny gains in speed above 180 mph require enormous amounts of horsepower.
The amount of horsepower required to overcome aerodynamic drag rises as the cube of speed. Consider this: 160 hp is enough to push a stock Hayabusa to nearly 190 mph, but it would take closer to 225 hp to get that same bike to 200 mph--65 more hp for just 10 more mph on top. Going 200 mph on a production-based motorcycle is a huge accomplishment--indeed, there are only 42 riders in the East Coast Timing Association's (ECTA) elite "200-mph" club.
A stock 954 puts out 136 hp. None of the work you described will allowyour friends bike to increase it's hp by almost 100 hp. I wish the next time I get pulled over the cop has your radar gun as it is obviously out of whack. Lastly, why the obsession with straight line speeds on public roads? Doesn't take much skill, only large *****. Hey we all like hitting high speeds once in awhile, but it just seems like you are overly obsessed with something that is not only realistically achievealbe on a 954, but not all that impressive on a public road. Now if you out brake a buddy into a tight turn, hit the apex perfectly, get back on the maximum throttle without high-siding, and set up perfectly for the next turn, now that is something to talk about (private race track of course).

RE: exhaust
radar guns need calibrated from what i hear...if thats true maybe you guns off. i dont think your going to break 200 on a 954 without dropping at least 6k into it. i.e.full exhaust. mapping, velocity stacks. 2 ply air filter, lighter wheels, 20-30 shot nos,vp-110 lets notforget plugs and wires..
i should mention though it is possible to break 200 on the 05gsxr1000 without putting more than 3k into it.
