I have read somewhere that the Euro models tell you your fuel economy. Dont know if that is true. Another thing not metioned are the running lights in the uppermost part of the head lights. Only on the Euro bikes, that is unless you put them in yourself.

Hey VP if you talkin bout the first pic that kinda looks like the exhaust to me...thats just my oppinion not tryna start anything . I do like the blue scheme and the yellow schemes actually thought about goin threw tape works and creatin my own color scheme but since i lowered and stretched mine i did away wit that idea. I think the european bike had a second led light on the tach.....i could of swore i saw it on a euro'd 954 but just cant remember where i saw that picture at. Hey ramar just get on google and research from there, wikipedia is a good site and they usually go over the different type of models....matter a fact im gonna wikipedia the 954!
Yup, thats what he was seeing. You can actually see it better in this pic.....=-)

Okay I think I've worked it out. Pimpn - thanks for the recommendation on Wiki, but alas they haven't gone into great detail on the differentiation of models in various countries, maybe we should edit it ourselves hey?

So from what I've figured out, there are only really two model types with slight variations dependent on what country or state they're being sold in. Canada apparently has some of the same ECS restrictions as California, so some Canadian models might also be weighed down with the O2 sensor. Other than this, the main differences between Jap/Euro and North American (from what I found so far anyway) seem to be the paint and decals, the "passing" switch, fuel economy indicator, H.I.S.S. (additional led in speedo) and I have a factory noise compliance sticker on the frame.

So what does the extra led in the speedo do? Shift light?

It blinks when the H.I.S.S. (factory security system) is on.

having a oxygen sensor is not necessarily a bad thing, once the throttle is opened all the way-the o2 sensor is disregarded!!!,its all the other sh*t
that is installed that hurts performance-the o2 sensors actually help performance, once online with the engine control unit(o2 sensors have to be
at operating temp to work properly!)-infact if you have a full exhaust system with a o2 port-install a sensor and connect it to a proper scope-you
can tune a pc3 better then you could using the rear wheel on a dyno![sm=proof.gif]

Found that while lookin up the 954 for this topic.....found alot of good info with some very good pictures. This site also explains the "Fireblade" gauge cluster. Why didnt they put the security system on our models?!?!?! we will never know

The European models have H.I.S.S....Basically its a transponder equipped bike (like alot of cars we have here in the US). ALL cars, trucks and bikes in the European countries have to be transponder equipped. I think its just a law that they have over there...The US has always been slow about technology....we have to face that...=-)
