Cylinders 1 and 4 filling with fuel
Okay so I ordered a new fuel pump the other day, installed it, bike fired right up. ran it for a while just in the garage, tried to start it the next day, wouldnt turn over. pulled the air box and checked the cylinders to see 1 and 4 were completely full of gas. The injectors were shooting a steady stream of gas ONLY into 1 and 4, so I switched the injectors 1 and 4 with 2 and 3 and they still only fill 1 and 4. I then disconnected all 4 wire plugs going to injectors hoping it was a computer related issue, but still no change. Also the fuel pump relay just died, so another one is on order. Any ideas? Thanks
Yes I agree, this is almost like a stream of **** lol.... I thought I did test them by switching 1 and 4 with 2 and 3 then back again to confirm? If it was the injectors that were bad wouldn't injector 1 and 4 be shooting streams and not just following the cylinders? Thanks
I would agree it to be the computer, BUT we did pull the 4 wire plugs that went to each injector, there is no computer connected to them so you pretty much have to rule that out unless theres something I'm missing. Thanks
Right. But with the wires pulled from the injectors, its still shooting gas to cylinders 1 and 4, regardless of which injector I use which makes me think that maybe it could be the fuel pressure regulator? I don't know just a thought. Also could there be some junk that washed into the bar that the injectors connect to? I haven't taken it apart yet, is it just a single tube that fuel flows through or is there lines inside it that go to each injector? Thanks
