I've never seen a bike that the handle bars lock when turned to the right.......weird

 

My old '84 Yamaha was like that. When I first brought home my current bike I struggled with the steering lock for a long time until I finally tried turning it to the left and discovered that it locked the opposite way of what I'd been used to doing.

 

The bars have to be all the way to the left in order for it to finally click in. Hope this helps

 

The thread is over 12.5 years old. He probably doesn't even have that bike anymore.
