There are decent 5-8k Halogens also that have a nice blue/white look.

And Moosestang how do you like that buel. I test rode a Firebolt 1200 loved the bike but not the power. Does that new Rotax motor have the gusto to compete with say a 929 or 954?

No. Not the same. Maybe a similar look, but they dont produce nearly the same LUMEN output...

I seriously love these hids ... yea 35w is fine... but the 55w looks soo good I seriously highly suggest it to anyone... just rode tonight the light is just a pure white light, everyone says it looks great... ie: moosestangs pic

The 1125cc rotax v-twin makes 146hp stock, mine dynoed 131rwhp. The power is better spread out on the buell and I prefer the way it's geared. I tried going down 1 tooth in the front for the 954, but it just made 1st gear harder to control. I think the flapper or exhaust valve might be responsible for the on/off throttle feeling in 1st.

The 954 still feels more powerful, because it has a big whoosh up top, where it feels like the bike is going to get away from you, but the rotax is more fun, imo. I could live without an I4, but I'll never be without a powerful v-twin.

It's not really fair to compare the two bikes, 1 is 3 years old and the other 10, but the buell feels more stable in a bumpy corner. The motors are very different with similar hp #'s, but the Honda feels faster and is more stable in a straight line acceleration, it's a bullet, silver bullet as it were.

My r/r got toasted after installing HID's, could be coincidence or could be maybe i put neg from hid to positive from the h4 housing for the stock h4, but would the hid turn on if it was plugged incorrectly? I'm thinking this may have caused the r/r to go toast.

Yeah I want to pick up a Buell if only I could get the look of the old Firebolt with the rotax motor, I wasn't a huge fan of the new styles.

I didn't say the halogens were as good as the HID's just that you can get rid of the yellow look with a decent set of Halogens. Which is good enough for this guy.

Not sure if it would toast your R/R, But HID's are polarity sensitive so they wouldn't have turned on if they were reversed.

No offense but I would guess human error here as if anything was wrong the the HID's wouldn't it have tripped the fuse and that would be the end of it?
