battery charge
Hi all.. i have cbr954 2003 is my first bike , i drove this bike for 2 years with no problem, last summer my battery die, i got a new one and runs but i want to make sure my alternator works and charge the battery. I try to remove to battery with the engine on but it shut off imediatly, i no if you try on the car it works... now i dont cknow ,wend the you disconect te battery with the engine on, the bike is gana run ?Thank you
The bike is not gonna idle when you pull the battery, it needs to have the RPM's up. Not sure how high they need to be on a 954, but higher than just idle. On my F4i, it needed to be at least 4500 RPM's.
Do not do that!! That trick worked on cars prior to say 1963 that had generators. Pulling the battery on newer cars and bikes with computer controlled devices can cause multiple shorts and even go as far as killing the computer. If you want to test it properly yourself ya need to learn to use a voltmeter.
