Default 954RR Clutch problem

I replaced the fibers, steel, springs, bearing ,judder spring and seat (all OEM). Soaked the fibers and lined up all the steels with the sharp side facing out, rounded side in. Clutch will not engage properly. From neutral into first the bike will creep forward at idle, clutch leve released. Apply throttle and it just revs. I have inspected the basket, inner and outer and it looks fine. Is there a procedure for adjusting the cable after replacing the internals?

Default Solution ??

I took off the cover and checked the disk for free play. With the pressure plate bolt seated all the way down and the bike in gear the inner basket could still rotate. The fibers and steels still had about a quarter inch of free play. I took a chance and added one of the old steel plates to the stack against the pressure plate. It now takes off like a bat out of you know where!! No slip in any gear and runs like new. So I now have nine fibers and nine steel plus judder spring and judder seat. Anyone ever tried this? Am I flirting with disaster? Please comment. I have only had the bike since May 8 2010 and the clutch gave out about two weeks ago. I bought an ECB kit through the dealer and the bike would not move after install. I bought all OEM parts from Bike Bandit with the same result. Once I added the extra original steel plate it runs like new. Comments please.
