Turn key on, turn switch on run-lights on, fuel primes...
when i push the actual start button, theheadlight goes off and i hear a faint click coming from the starter solenoid.
when i let off the start button the lights come back on.
So this started last spring but i band-aid fixed it by jumping the solenoid and it does the trick.
Id really not like to have to do this forever. lol
All fuses good, battery fully charged.
1-I replaced the whole right clipon electrical components (the run/off button and the start button included)
2-I am waiting on a new solenoid to get here in the next few days.
I used to have a pdf of the electrical system but its gone now so i cant trace the problem.
Any ideas?

what do you mean by "jump the solenoid"? Are you bypassing the solenoid? Just jumpstarting the bike?
Have you pushstarted it? If it's an old battery I'd look at that first - a battery that shows a full charge on a home charger still might not have the amps to turn over the starter motor.

If you jump the solenoid and it starts and runs, that's probably the problem. Had the same problem on a Chevy PickUp.
Make sure the solenoid coil is getting power when you click the starter switch. If it is, it is the solenoid. If it's not getting power to the coil, problem is somewhere else.

def sounds like the solenoid, but also make sure to check all relays and that your starter is gettin a good ground, ive had bad grounds do this before, also had a old 600 that did this and i took the starter apart and it ended up being a stuck brush that contats the armature, figured that out after replacing the solenoid for nothing lol it was frustrating sometime had to jump the solenoid, but sometimes it would start on its own. electrical problems definatley suck so good luck.
