Default 954 wheels

i ran across this on ebay heres the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...em120149244817

i dont know if it is me but i love the look of the old style 6 spoke wheels on the 954 (says they were off of a rc51), what do yall think and does anybody know for sure if the wheels from the rc51 wheels will fit on the 954/929 without mods? i wouldnt mind sellin my chrome wheels for a set of rc 51 wheels, i love the look of the 6 spoke seein as how they shouldnt have went wit the average 3 spoke design on the newer cbrs!

Don't know if they bolt up or not, but it does look f'n sweet.

Hopefully somebody knows the answer, cause i wouldn't mind having a set of those on my bike.

a lot of the part numbers are the same including the flange assembly, bearing, races, etc., so it will probably fit.

i google'd it and found a thread from fireblades.org that was saying that rc51 rear wheels bolt right on, and front just needs new bearings and maybe a spacer (that guy was talking about a 929, but im thinking it should be the same for the 54)

Im gonna keep my eye out for a set of rc51 wheels and give it a go.

heres the thread if ya wanna read it.

well goin back to what demonchild said bout the spacers and bearings being the same part number i went to the bike bandit site to research brake calibers and brake rotors but part numbers didnt match. guess ill just have to keep researching, i know i could get atleast 800 for the rims i got now (hasnt moved since beinchromed) but i know ill end up spendin more than that gettin the rims wit everything then chroming

the wayi understood that thread was that the rear wheel was a bolt on type deal (not sure about axle size or bearings though) and front wheel is also bolt on, but need new bearings and then re-use your 54 axle. It was either that thread or another that said the front rotors on the rc51 wheels (stock rc51 rotors) line right up with 54 calipers.

Im watching a couple sites and egay for at least a front wheel to see if the rotors actually do line up. If its as easy as it sounds then ill post back up and let ya know.
