I have seen people with RC51 wheels on their 929's. I have decided to get some too, but it turns out that the front wheel axle is too big for the RC51's wheel hole. Has anyone here done this swap? What should i do to fit the wheel on my bike? Do i get the RC51's axle or somehow change out the bearings and center collar? Anyone, please help!!!

You are asking about a conversion that doesnt seem to be terribly common. It might not hurt to ask a tech at a dealership about the interchangeability of the wheels. I would think using the 954 axle would work, but I am not 100% sure.

 

Yeah, i guess it isnt that common, but i have seen it done. Do you know how exactly to take the shield and bearings out of the wheels? It seems that the rubber bearing shields have somewhat fused together on the rim itself and i have been tearing little pieces at a time to remove it. You think that if i applied some heat (fire) to that part of the wheel, maybe it will melt off? If i can get the bearings and collar out, i can pretty much figure it out. Have any ideas?
