The only thing I don't like about this is the bikes used. Enjoy trying, take your time and be safe.

I have been practicing. I finally can consistently get it up on power. I brought it up high yesterday, to the lower portion of the balancing point, but it scared me so ididnt try tohold it. I still cant manage to get it up from the clutch. In 2nd gear, about what rpms and speed should i be at when slipping?

From my own experience on a 954 with stock gearing, I am in second gear and get the rpm right around 5 or 6k. Then while standing a light slip of the clutch and twist of the throttle and it comes up very smooth. Once it is up on balance it is at about 7 to 8k rpm. I have not been able to get it up in second without using the clutch, but I think it is because I am 6'5' and weigh 200lbs give or take a few. I used a road with a slight incline for paracticing mine. It made it quite a bit easier.Good luck with that.

I always wondered that myself until I just kept getting farther and farther back until it felt like the bike was just coasting. Another thing that I found really helpful was doing wheelies on my trials or dirt bike. The trials bike worked really well because it only has 4 psi in the rear tire. The low pressure gives it the going upan inclinekinda feeling. I am not saying you should lower your tire pressure or anything, my point is I used a bike that was a lot more inexpensive to fix in case I looped out. If you have a dirt bike or something, I would definatly use it to get an understanding of that feeling. That is what a lot of my buddies have done to.

before i had the extended swingarm when i would ride wheelies in 1st or 2nd i wouldnt use the clutch until i wanted to bring it up over 55mph. found out the hard way that clutch wheelies in excess of 95mph will in fact blow out the954 clutch basket also a friendof my blew out his basket at 45 pulling up while sitting on his gas tank .. likea few people have said 2nd gear 5000rpm blast the throttle for a second and ride it out.. i really really suggest you get a wheelie bar for you bike even ifyou dont get a crash crage. if you need an engine i bought one from estate motor cars ,,,, a largeengine dealer in new yorkand even had it shipped to alaska for only 1400$ i hope you never need one but if you dothey are a trustworthy dealer.

with stock gearing once you get used to the bike clutchless will work fine until you get to 45 50
