these bikes like high rpms. keep them about 5000 so shift after 6000.
I usually shift at 10k, 11.5k, for 1st, 2nd respectively, then if I am still hammering Ill red line until I want to slow down through the rest of the gears or just kick it into 3rd then 4th and cruise.
