Are you swapping the sprockets? -2 +1? I have -2 +1 on 530 and it doesnt feel to much worse than stock.....

Yeah thinking of doing minus two plus one but I'm not sure if that would cause the bike to come up too easily and too often.

I made the switch to a 520 a couple months ago and I just went -1 on the front. Just a little quicker, not a wheelie monster and rpms on interstate are just a tad higher.

With -2 there would be no need in doing one up in the rear. -1 up front = +3 in the rear. Optimal set up for our bikes is -1 front +2 rear. Like tanrush said if you go -2 up front your rpms will be alot higher not just a tad.

I would not even consider going -2 on the front. This would be such a small sprocket and the chain would have a lot of stress on it making such a tight turn. My bike had a 520 kit with stock gearing when I bought and I changed the front -1 while doing some drag racing last fall. I gained several tenths with changing the front. I did notice on hard street riding the front wanted to lift out of some corners where it didnt want to lift the front wheel before. This spring when drag racing starts back I am going to get another hub and put a 44 tooth on the rear. This way I dont have to change the chain and can quickly change my gearing from street to drag race setup. Going -1 front and +2 rear is a big change for these bikes and will make it very hard to keep the front wheel down on hard acceleration in first and second gear.

I couldn't even imagine changing the sprockets on one of these bikes. My bike is stock gearing and I already can't keep the front down in first and second will come up with I'm not careful. Even at 70 mph if I grab a handful of 2nd the front is off the ground. I weigh in at 170 so maybe that has something to do with it? I have to be careful with hard acceleration or else I'm staring at the sky lol.

I have never ever accidentally did a wheelie; let alone having the front in the air a little bit in my 954 and f2. Why? Maybe i have not yet explored my 954 that well but maybe its just my riding style?

It has to be your riding style on the 954. I have never ridden a F2 so I can't comment on it. With the 954 if you open it up in 1st at low RPM's when the RPM's get to about 7k the front will come up almost everytime.
