Default 2003 954 white exhaust tip

Hello . I have a 2003 CBR 954 I just turned 6000 miles before the last ride I went on I installed a K&N air filter. Before that The exhaust tip was a little brownish/black. When I returned I noticed the exhaust tip was white , I was told by K&N that I could install this with out changing anything else. I did notice It would not pull up the front tire as easy as it use to. My question is ? Is my bike running to lean And if so what can I do to fix this problem. I talked to the guys I ride with and they mentioned a programer. I wouldnt mind buying one of the programmers if I knew this would repair my problem. I just dont want to burn up my bike. It has been a great bike. Thanks for any help.

get rid of that K&N, it sucks. my bike was running like crap from it. i smelled like gas everytime i got off the bike and couldnt figure it out. i adjusted my power commander, took the PC out and put the bike back to stock basically, but still nothing. i got a stock filter cuz EVERYONE on here recommended it and now my bike is running great and i can actually ride my bike to public places without having to worry about smellin like a gas station when i get off.

Had a k&n, silly thing would not seal to my liking. The stupid rubber lip on it never wanted to align with the groove. Heavy too. Have not heard of it making a tip white though. Sounds like leaded fuel. But if you have not ran that, obviously it is something else.

Thumbs up Thanks for all the info

I did some checking and found out that the race gas I ran was leaded . I did notice when I installed the K&N it was a pain in the *** to get it to seal correctly. Thank you guys for all your input and advise

I dont have any issues with my K&N, and the stock paper ones suck and you have to replace them K&N you dont, just maybe tune for it. Love mine!!
