Default Wiring problem

Hello everyone, I have a 929 that I put into my caterham 7 clone. I had a problem with my care. After 10 years of trouble free performance it appeared I picked up a short in the harness. So here’s what happened, one day in the midst of charging a dead battery I attempted to start the car while under a charg. It started then stalled. I cranked and cranked and everything worked except it wouldn’t start. So I sent to my mechanic. He races turbo hayabusa so he’s pretty sharp. Within 5minutes he finds blown fuse. Replaces car runs great, drives it, blows fuse, replaces drives again boom, blown again. Replaces fuse. Fuel pump won’t work. Pulls pump, dead short in pump. Replaces pump, starts runs, idles. Turns it off, then it won’t restart, won’t turn over, dash is DEAD. Fuses still ok. Tries to trace harness short. Can’t find any. So I buy used harness, redo the harness, secure it, finish it, turn the key, looks good, dash lights come on, fuel pump presurizes, signal lights, horn, etc all work, we push starter button and it turns over......but does not start. Pull the plugs and check, no spark on any cylinder. Appreciate any help or advice. Also looking for an original wiring scheme, the one I have is in a Haynes repair manual. Not thorough enough.

First of all I would check those things that need to be by-passed as if it was the bike BAS,Kill switch, etc, also check relays and here's the wiring diagram, did you use a cbr929 ignition as well

Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for the wiring diagram, you don’t happen to have that in color do you? Yes I am using the original ignition as well as a power commander 4. I am wondering if I had a surge that came from the charger or ecu that took out the fuel pump and eventually then damaged the ecu. I guess I will put in another ecu and see. The fact that everything else works now with the exception of the coils makes me wonder if I just have a connection issue with one wire somewhere. Thanks any advice is paid attention to and acted upon. I will hunt some more.

Thanks, I forgot to think of trying to pull a code, it’s worth a shot.
