Where is my power band?
I am a fairly new rider, I ride a 2K 929, I dont really understand much about the power band, I was hoping maybe someone else who rides my same bike could help me with a little knowledge on the subject. Where is it? How does it effect my riding, my weelies. etc. Any help is much ablidged, and please all haters need not apply, I know your on this site, I've dealt with you before, I dont want to hear how you're better than me. I seek knowledge only.
I assume you mean in higher gears. My response is based on the assumption you are in2nd or better.
The meat is around 5K.
The way it affects your wheelies is at 5K you are near peak torque which helps to get the bike up and from there (as the RPM's rise) the HP will take over and help you stablize the wheeliewhile the extra revs are kept in reserve to adjust your height if needed.
What I'm trying to say is when you clutch up you don't ride a certain gear up to9K and then clutch it only because it'sprettydifficult to manage getting the front end up and dialing in the power at the same time all the while you're near peak HP.
Yes, when you clutch the bike up you may very well rev to 9K but that's only for a split second and onlyto get the wheelie process going...after that you get to BP (balance point) and then you dial in what you need to keep that going.
FWIW: I'm not a hater.

The power is pretty well distributed through out the gear. The phrase "Power band" usually refers to 2 Stroke engines that have that sputtery bottom end then enter the "power band" and make smoother stronger power up top
But, you will notice the bike is very responsive between 5500-6500, and pulls like hell all the way to 11.5
Since your new to riding and already on a litre bike, I will tell you this... Be easy on the initial "snap" of the throttle, they are very torqy (sp) espeacially exiting turns
