Default Where is the power band on a 2002 cbr 600 f4i?

I am a new rider and owner and was wondering what rpm range delivers the most power?

its not a 2 stroke. It doesn't just come on as such so if your worried about hit then dont be, just dont pin the throttle. As you get more aquainted with the bike and your skill improves you will understand the power delivery better.

+1 and the most power will be in the upper most part of the rpm range

I have an f4 not an f4i but it was/is my first bike. I played it very safe the first while. The first time I brought the bike over 10000 rpms i nearly wet myself.

This is me exactly!!!

I remember the feeling in my stomach was like being on a rollercoaster, and I am only about 170 so as I started sliding back in my seat I realized I wasn't holding on hard enough, or braced properly.....

You get over it fast though.

I think if you are laying out in the 8-9 range you are just getting to the precipice of the powerband, make sure you have plenty of straight road when you open it up.

You say you are a new rider, so I want to say take it easy and don't get cocky. That motorcycle (any motorcycle) will not hesitate to kill you if you don't respect it.

That and pay attention to everything. ride like everyone is out to kill you (because they are)

This is true.....when I pass people I always ride with my thumb over the horn just in case they start changing lanes on me.

I don't. I cover the brake instead. Most are too far off in their own little world to realize that someone is honking at them. Just be prepared to stop or swerve.

If you keep bringing the F4 to the precipice of the powerband without letting her fully cam out, and repeatedly do this, will the bike get into such a state that when you let it cam out, it will make a huge amount power in an explosion of torque? But if you don't eventually let it fully cam out, will it get really mad at you? ;-)

Oh yea, greater than 10K RPM on the F4 is a different feel.
