Is our stator supposed to run in an oil bath?

no, i had something similar happen and just tightened down any bolt i could see and it stopped. dont freak out just tighten some stuff down and see if that works

yes when you take the stator cover off oil will come out and the stator will be covered in oil this is normal

Ok good, that's what the local shop told me. I was just making sure cause it seemed kind of weird to be leaking oil from my stator cover.

I've already got the new gasket, I'll throw her on tomorrow.
