Just wondering if anybody can give me some insught on when to have my valves adjusted, i've heard it mentioned a couple of times but not sure when to have it done. I'm pretty sure the guy I bought my bike from never had them done since it only had 7500 miles on it (june 06) I now have 20,000 miles on it any info on this is much appreiciated. also curious how much it would cost, thanks again.

Yea your ready. Here in So Cal it cost $740 for the major tune up on my 929.Valve adj, plugs, oil,filters, fluid top off, check cam tensionersand yada yada and it included safety check brakes,lights,horn and so on..... It really cost me 7 bones for the valve adjustment and to check the tensioners, cause I do everything else myself but all the shops around here don't break down service just for the valve adjustment they call it a major service.

 

my bike had it done at 16,000 miles soI would say you are overdue

 

umm i bought a bike at 32k milles. how do i know it tuned or not?

 

valve adjustment is about 2-3 hours job..its 90 bucks for an hour lable..i think i should go get mine done this winter..
i have a project for this winter,,re-do the whole bike and try to turn into a track bike again.
