I have a 929. I love the bike.

Ever since I have noticed, my turn signals (front and rear) are always on when teh bike is on. Do all of yours do the same?

I guess I always figured it was for safety to have the lights on (like parking lights). However, it seems like it would be nicer to have them only light when you turn the blinkers on.

 

the signals on my 99 are like that, i think i read a thread where a guy converted to have them only light when the signals are on, but i can't find it.

 

There are 3 wires on each turn signal. Green is ground, orange for the left and light blue for the right. There is also a orange/white stripe and blue/white stripe on each side. Those are the hots for constant light. You can snip those and cap the power end to prevent a short, then they will only light when used as turn signals.

On my 2000 929rr I had a green wire, blue wire, and blue with white stripe wire. I capped the blue with white stripe wire.

Now my blinkers function perfect and are not on all the time !!
