RE: troubles help
1. assume you're back to stock, do the obvious stuff first, air, fuel, spark. isolate each. instead of finding what's wrong, first find out what's right and isolate so that you can rule out various possible issues.
2. too much or too little fuel will both cause loss of power. is it a misfire or "backfire", they're different, one points to too much fuel, the other points to timing
3. also, if you have an aftermarket exhaust and air filter, where's your power commander? if you don't have one, you need one. 260 dollars from dynojet for the PowerCommander IIIUSB, trust me, it's worth it.
4. do some inexpensive things first, change spark plugs, air filter, clean your throttle body. if you're running rich, and if ECM is ok, then air-flow might be restricted. fuel pumpand fuel filter probably ok but check the fuel pressure regulator. you need a volt meter for this.
5. make sure your ECM is working and that all your sensors are ok. specifically, the throttle position sensor, just make sure that the correct information is communicated between the throttle position sensor, and amount of fuel is being told to send through the fuel injectors via the ECM
6. check to see if you're drinking oil (just look on the side oil level glass periodically to see if the level is changing)
7. make sure you have original stock injectors (i.e. someone didn't install larger injectors)
anyway, start there and let me know what you find.
