have you looked into the bmc filter.dont know from experience but from what i hear the bmc is a better performing filter for the 929. my bike had a k&n in it when i bought it and im trying to decide between stock and bmc.according to this site the stocker is the best as far as better dyno numbers,,and the bmc is the best washable filter numbers wise.but dont hold me to it.and ive got a k&n in every vehicle in the driveway but i guess they just dont work as well with the 929

I also have the K&N only for a washable standpoint but the stuff to clean it cost's what a new filter would so...it's about a wash. BMC race filters flow great but do NOT stop enough dirt for a street ridden bike. It will cause problems if run long enough.
OEM flows as good as any aftermarket short of a race filter from what i can tell or have read.

No......you do not need to remap your bike just for a filter, but the PC III will work wonders even for a stock bike so IMO it is worth the money.

just from looking at a stock filter and a BMC filter, whch I run in my bike. the BMC filter looks to be of better flowing quality.

BMC makes race as well as a standard and that is what I have in my 929.

I run the K&N but didn't notice any difference (like you would notice) in hp up or down from the stock one. Just better to have a cotton element instead of paper IMO.

My main consern is if i put a k&n filter in is the bike gonna run like crap i have a slip on exhaust and am affraid with the better flowing filter the bike will run lean dont have the funds for a power commander right now so i want to avoid any complications i guess for now i'll stick with oem just to be on the safe side, thanks for the input

well first of all i also have a bolt on and a k&n and my bike seems to run just fine now it might show a little something on a dyno as far as the curve and all but nothing im noticing on the road.also i believe going from oem to k&n would actually give you less flow according to the charts and info ive read.im personally leaning towards the bmc street version.

I dont know that it is WORSE, but it's not enough better for you to notice anything by switching it. Other than you can clean it, you probably wont gain anything or make the fuel map enough different to notice it.
