Default Spy 5000m Alarm Remote Start

I have a 2001 929 that I installed this alarm on and was able to get all of it to work but the remote start. Thanks to this site. It cranks over but doesn't prime the fuel pump. It works fine with the key though. I did see another post that they used a zener diode to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

There is a diode on the bottom of the ignition switch that sends 9v through the pink wire to the ECU as a security feature. If the remote bypasses the switch, you will need to feed the 9v to the ECU some other way.

Unless this is a non US bike.... then you will have HISS and that's an entire different can of worms.

I have no idea how you have it wired or what wires are on the alarm. The pink wire that comes from the switch feeds 9v to the ECU. If that doesn't happen, the ECU will not fire up. It's a security feature....

There is a diode in the bottom of the factory switch that steps 12v to 9v and sends it to the ECU.

Is the diode the only way to make this work? I have read where some F4I works with the alarm. Unless it is just specific with the 929.

I'm not sure if the F4i has this feature or not. We have 929s, so it really doesn't matter.

That pink wire, that comes from the switch, must supply 9V to the ECU. Not 12V, not 6V, but only 9V or nothing will work. 9V is specifically achieved by the switch and it's diode. If you want to bypass the switch, you MUST find a way to get the 9V to the ECU on the pink wire.
